I find myself unreasonably pleased that this map includes my home.

I find myself thinking that the text should’ve been “truth it not yet lost”. Don’t know why. Perhaps my unconscious interpretation is bleaker than merited.

Mine as well, David.

I find myself reasonably displeased that it doesn’t include mine. :-P

Maps are about finding things. If you can find it on a map (symbolic, personal, geographical), then it isn’t lost. The connection of a map and “the truth is not lost” seems to me to give directions to the truth. I like this very much.
I see Hitherby as a gradual upward process of reconstruction, and even though that agrees with the biases in my world, I think the text backs me up.

I agree.

I seem to have read this differently than everyone else.
I didn’t see “Truth is not lost” as one might read “All is not yet lost”…
I read it as: “Truth is not something that gets lost. Trampled, hidden, obscured – sure; but never lost. Some things just can’t be accidental.”
Might have been the lack of a “the”, or it might be my own drum thumping off beat, again.
Just my own 2kr.

And I read it as “Truth is eternal; and while it may not be apparent to any given person at any given moment in time, from the perspective of the Universe as a whole, each truth is ever-present.”

the leader of the Qwik club said “I’d like things to mean something.”
Well, they do mean something
and it’s there.
we just don’t know what that is yet.

GoldenH: so you think it means “not lost, just misplaced”? Could be.

i don’t think it was ever lost or misplaced.
it’s just there, waiting to be discovered.

Oh, I don’t think Truth is that lost, really. She did get all the Orienteering merit badges, you know.
